My extremely talented cousin was setting up for a photoshoot on an early summer day that was predicted to be overcast and still. Instead, we were bathed in the sun’s rays and we encountered winds.
While the model posed for her, I was transfixed by the intensity of her green eyes. I couldn’t look away. All manner of things were moving about, but I did not notice. Not until I was shaken out of it to run after something.
I was later struck again by that moment when I saw the developed images. She had captured it which once again had me locked in.
Windswept recreates that moment when we are captured by something so intensely that the world around us could be burning down and we would not even notice. A sensation of transportation and complete loss of control.
